The Giver, by Lois Lowry. is a very intriguing novel because of fact that Lois Lowry ends the novel with many possible endings. You have to imagine what happens in the end with Jonas. Lowry created a "perfect" community in which at the age of 12 you would be given an assignment. Jonas, the main character receives the job of the Receiver. This book is about the hardships and burdens of how Jonas becomes the Receiver Overall this novel was very good. This novel is definitely a page-turner and I recommended this novel to anyone.

The Giver, by Lois Lowry. is a very intriguing novel because of fact that Lois Lowry ends the novel with many possible endings. You have to imagine what happens in the end with Jonas. Overall this novel was very good. Lowry created a "perfect" community in which at the age of 12 you would be given an assignment. Jonas, the main character receives the job of the Receiver. The job of the Receiver is to hold and experience all of th e painful memories of the community. This job requires courage, integrity, and wisdom. Jonas works hard to become the Receiver as the previous Receiver trains him. Jonas learns that the happy ceremony of Release is not as happy as it seems. The Ceremony of Release is a ceremony that will honor someone's life and then go to beyond through a door. Jonas learns that the Ceremony of the Release is basically a murder of the person. Jonas then plans with the previous Receiver, also known as the Giver, to steal Gabriel, a baby that is going to be released, and travel beyond the community in which they live in. As Jonas remembers a certain memory of singing the book ends. This novel is definitely a page-turner and I recommended this novel to anyone.

This book was one of my favorite books. It has a good moral and can help us to understand the world better. It really deserved the award and it tells of a wonderful journey about a boy named Jonas. It tells of a world of the future. I defiantly recomend this book to you.

"Synopsis" by ,
A wry, dry, laugh-out-loud princess tale by the hilarious Lois Lowry, with illustrations by Pulitzer Prizeand#8211;winning cartoonist Jules Feiffer. Princess Patricia Priscilla is bored with her royal life and the excitement surrounding her sixteenth birthday ball. Doomed to endure courtship by three grotesquely unappealing noblemen, she adopts a peasant disguise and escapes her fateand#8212;for a week. In this tale of mistaken identity, creamed pigeons, and young love, the two-time Newbery medalist Lois Lowry compares princesses to peasants and finds them to be exactly the same in all the important ways.
