I will be using this textbook for my Shakespeare class this coming Spring semester. I have always really liked Shakespeare, even though, sometimes, I didn't always understand it perfectly. I guess I liked it when I learned about it briefly as a high school student. Now that I'm in college (sophomore), I am kind of excited and kind of scared to go into Shakespeare's works in great detail. However, I think this book will be a good choice. From what I've seen and read, it seems to cover a lot of the plays (especially the tragedies) with insight into Shakespeare's life. I especially hope that we will go into Hamlet. I never really studied it in high school, but I remember reading all about it in an online essay that someone published. At that time, I was in ninth or tenth grade, so, Hamlet being torn between the right and wrong choice, really impacted me as a teenager. I liked that he seemed to be the one trying to do the right thing, but being torn by that at the same time. So, anyways, this textbook is one that I will enjoy reading and going into in a couple of weeks! I hope you guys enjoy, too...!!
