A classic; its bright colors grab the attention of any toddler. All 3 of my kids love it. They have so much fun listening to it the first 20 times and recalling it the next 200 they forget they are learning as well. This is a great book for every child and no library can be complete without it.

A basic introduction to the life cycle of the caterpillar/butterfly, with a fun twist thrown in. Encourages counting, and is is just all around FUN for parents and their little ones!

This book is such a classic, my now 1 year old has always loved it. We used to put his little fingers in the holes (and say chomp chomp) and now he loves to put his fingers in the holes and discover the colorful butterfly at the end!

"Staff Pick" by ,

The Very Hungry Caterpillar has been a huge hit with my three-year-old; I can't count the times that I've enjoyed reading this with her. She loves to tell me all the good things the caterpillar eats, and we both enjoy yelling POP when the caterpillar comes out of the egg . This is a wonderfully written and illustrated book that your child will come back to time and time again.

"Review" by , "This early work by a premier author marked an exciting breakthrough in the traditional children's book format. Carle uses clever cutout pages to depict a caterpillar eating his way through the calendar week. Caterpillar also brilliantly displays Carle's ability to integrate a concept (days of the week), scientific information (the life cycle of a caterpillar), and an appealing story. (Ages 3-6)"
"Synopsis" by ,
THE all-time classic picture book, from generation to generation, sold somewhere in the world every 30 seconds! Have you shared it with a child or grandchild in your life?

"The very hungry caterpillar literally eats his way through the pages of the book—and right into your child's heart..."

Mother's Manual

"Gorgeously illustrated, brilliantly innovative..."

The New York Times Book Review

"Synopsis" by , Now even younger children can follow the little green caterpillar as he eats his way to becoming a beautiful butterfly in this sturdy board book.
