Alex Rider: Crocodile Tears by Anthony Horowitz tells of a teenage spy’s struggle to stop the spy act and just be a normal teenage boy. Unfortunately, that’s not such an easy battle for him to win. Although he tries, Alex Rider can not stop from going back to his life as a spy and it can get him into a lot of trouble. At one point in the book a problem is thrust upon Alex when an unexpected visitor comes to Alex’s home in the South of London. Alex Rider isn’t a typical teenage boy, but you don’t have to be a spy to understand what Alex is going through. He is a relatable character because he just wants to fit in, like every other teenager. Anthony Horowitz makes this book so easy to understand that you don’t have to read all the rest of the books in the series to know what is going on. This publication is a favorable book for younger teenagers around the ages of twelve to fourteen, but it would not interest older teenagers and would most likely be hard for younger kids to understand. Alex Rider isn’t the absolute BEST book written for teenagers, but it is still an acceptable read.

Anthony Horowitz has never been better! This fast pace story starts off with Alex, his girl friend, and her parents traveling to a haunting castle owned by Desmond McCain, an evil con man that is trying to create a "natural" disaster so he can make money. The minute they get to the castle Alex runs into trouble. I think the theme in this story is hero vs. villain because Alex has to battle McCain and other evils. I really enjoyed this book it kept me on the edge of my seat for the whole book. There were a lot of cliff hangers that made me read more. I would give this book a 5 out of 5.

"Synopsis" by , Horowitz delivers the eighth novel in his "New York Times"-bestselling Alex Rider series--a ripped-from-the-headlines story about an airborne strain of virus so catastrophic that it could wipe out an entire country in one day. The antidote? Alex Rider, of course, who survives gunfire, explosions, and hand-to-hand combat with mercenaries.
"Synopsis" by ,
A charity broker con artist has raised millions of dollars in donations, only to invest them in a form of genetically modified corn that has the power to release an airborne strain of virus so powerful it can knock out an entire country in one windy day. A catastrophe so far-reaching that it would raise millions of dollars more in charitable donations, all of which would be embezzled by one man. The antidote? Alex Rider, of course, who survives gunfire, explosions, and hand-to-hand combat with mercenariesÑ just another day in the life of an average kid.

"Synopsis" by ,
It?s just another day in the life of an average kid. If you?re Alex Rider, that is.

A con artist has realized there is big money in charity? the bigger the disaster, the greater the money flow! So that is what he will produce: the biggest disaster known to man, all thanks to genetically modified corn that can release a virus so potent it can knock out an entire country in one windy day. But Alex Rider will face whatever it takes?gunfire, explosions, hand-to-hand combat with mercenaries? to bring down his most dangerous adversary yet.

Often imitated, never equaled, the series that triggered a reading phenomenon is back, exhilarating and addictive as ever.
