Publisher Comments:

A classic tale that has enchanted millions of readers worldwide, Mrs. Mike brings the fierce, stunning landscape of the Great North to life—and masterfully evokes the tender, touching moments that bring a man and a woman together forever.

Recently arrived in Calgary, Alberta after a long, hard journey from Boston, sixteen-year-old Katherine Mary O’Fallon never imagined that she could lose her heart so easily—or so completely. Standing over six feet tall, with “eyes so blue you could swim in them,” Mike Flannigan is a well-respected sergeant in the Canadian Mounted Police—and a man of great courage, kindness, and humor. Together, he and his beloved Kathy manage to live a good, honest life in this harsh, unforgiving land—and find strength in a love as beautiful and compelling as the wilderness around them…

Synopsis:

The heartwarming backlist classic is now in trade paper with a new Introduction by the authors and a new sequel, "The Search for Joyful, " to be published in February 2002.

I have read and re-read Mrs Mike over and over again for over 45 years. As most of us young girls at that time we all fell in love with Sgt Mike. I have gone through 2 Mrs. Mike books and just ordered another one to replace my last one, getting worn out. I will be giving one to my granddaughter for Christmas so she can relive the Love of Sgt Mike and Mrs Mike.
Thank you for all the years of enjoyment. Oh by the way I'm 58 and reading Mrs. Mike again.

I read this book for the first time when I was 14 and have read it 3 times sence then! It was given to me as payment for babysitting and it is an original copyrighted in 1947. It is my absolute favorite book of all time. I now have three copies of it so that when my children are old enough I will give them each a copy. My youngest girl is named after Katherine Mary.
I recomend this book to all girls everywhere!!!

Hi, I'm 14 I read this book last year when I was 13 and absolutly loved it. (since then i've read it 3 more times) It's so amazing. It gave me so much hope for things to come, it helped me throuh the tough times. and when I feel like theres no one out there for me, I look how Kathy and Mike's love held strong. This book has taken me out of the norm of school, and brought me into a world of romance, and hardships. This book has deffinatly made a big impact on my life. I Love this book :)
