Ramona is a wonderful character, highly relatable for young girls who don't fit the stereotypes of female childhood. Her adventures are thoughtful and compelling, encouraging even her shy, bookish real-world counterparts to be themselves and confront the world with confidence. If I ever have daughters of my own, the Ramona series will certainly be a part of their library.
