Car mechanic Mercy Thompson has always known there was something different about her, and not just the way she can make a VW engine sit up and beg. Mercy is a shapeshifter, a talent she inherited from her long-gone father. She's never known any others of her kind. Until now.

An evil is stirring in the depths of the Columbia River-one that her father's people may know something about. And to have any hope of surviving, Mercy and her mate, the Alpha werewolf Adam, will need their help...

I have truly enjoyed this entire series. The characters are rich, and the stories are very engaging.

In River Marked I liked the direction it took to introduce us to Mercy's "People." The majority of the series has been dominated by the people in her life, so it was interesting to learn more about her.

In addition, I found that the main battle was unexpected, and very detailed. It's definitely worth the read, but much like good potato chips... ya can't eat just one! Start at the beginning and work your way to this book. You won't regret it!

Patricia Brigg's Mercy novels have been an unfailing hit for me since the very first Moon Called. River Marked doesn't disappoint. I love the characters, the plot, I especially enjoy all of the pacific northwest landmarks used in the novels. Believe me, if you haven't read these, you are missing out.
