A supernatural whodunit wrapped up in sorcery and magic, Turn Coat is genius. Butcher manages some crafty plot twists, adds some very scary monsters, and throws in political intrigue with White Council machinations. Not only does Harry have to defeat the monster and save his vampire brother, he is also forced to assist a long-standing foe prove that he is innocent of a heinous murder. I loved it! Butcher creates a magical world, populated by richly drawn and authentic characters, that is so believable, you’ll think you are part of it — and you'll be sorry at the end when you realize you’re not! If you haven’t read this series, do so now, starting with Storm Front. Warning: You won’t be able to stop until you’ve consumed the entire series! Luckily, we keep these well-stocked!

Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

The new novel in the hit New York Times bestselling Dresden Files series.

The Warden Morgan has been accused of treason against the Wizards of the White Council and there's only one, final punishment for that crime. He's on the run, wants his name cleared, and needs someone with a knack for backing the underdog. Someone like Harry Dresden...

Now, Harry must uncover a traitor within the Council, keep a less-than-agreeable Morgan under wraps, and avoid coming under scrutiny himself. And a single mistake may cost someone his head — someone like Harry.

Review:

"The search for a traitor in the highest circles of power forms the main plot thread of Butcher's 11th hard-boiled fantasy novel featuring Chicago's wizard detective Harry Dresden (last seen in 2008's Small Favor). Harry, a warden of the magic-governing White Council, finds himself in an unusual position when Morgan, his fellow warden and frequent antagonist, asks for his help. One of the White Council's leaders has been murdered, and Morgan was found at the scene of the crime holding the murder weapon. If he has been framed, then another senior wizard is behind the killing and may be trying to destroy the council entirely. Aided by werewolf and vampire allies, Dresden investigates with his trademark sardonic noir flair. Despite the sprawling plot, both fans and newcomers will get into the fast-paced action." I loved this book. Unlike so many other series that I've been reading Jim Butcher keeps his characters fresh and interesting. Harry's ever complicated yet strangely humorous life just gets better and better.

Butcher has outdone himself again!. The way he blends the fantasy realm and the real world make you believe in the characters personalities and he keeps them true to themselves. Each Dresden novel has made me want the next one and this is no different! But now I want a Foo dog, too.
