Jitterbug Perfume is an epic. Which is to say, it begins in the forests of ancient Bohemia and doesn't conclude until nine o'clock tonight [Paris time]. It is a saga, as well. A saga must have a hero, and the hero of this one is a janitor with a missing bottle. The bottle is blue, very, very old, and embossed with the image of a goat-horned god. If the liquid in the bottle is actually the secret essence of the universe, as some folks seem to think, it had better be discovered soon because it is leaking and there is only a drop or two left.

this book found me at the perfect moment in my life....just as i was wrestling with the heaviness of mortality. fantastic read. helped put my head right back in the clouds where it belongs!

First time reading this author - very good mix of genuine emotion, wit, humor, sexuality. It spans thousands of years, thus technically qualifying it as an epic about...beets.

The highlight for me was this booth where a husband and wife team sell handmade soaps and discount perfume under the label Arcana Soaps. I bought a bottle of a scent called Swashbuckler, which is redolent of clove and bay rum--it's piratical indeed, and unisex, and has a skull and crossbones on the label!
