Amazing book! There's really something in it for everyone. I watched the first season first and then picked up the book. If you loved the show it's definitely worth reading the book for all the details.

George R. R. Martin writes from different people's perspectives throughout the whole book which makes the story really interesting. I was captivated the whole time. The writing is wonderful, dialogue great and creativity spot on. There is a little bit of everything, adventure, mystery, romance, family drama, battles and more.

Love, love, love the book. Went out and bought book two and three while I was one third of the way into the first book. I first saw the DVD series though a library book loan. Then went and bought book 1, now I am hooked. Have not been hooked by a book for a long time now. Well written plot/story line that is character driven with enough intricate details and intrigue to keep a demanding reader entertained and challenged.
