The best of the Odd Thomas books so far. I've already gone through the others but I don't think I would have missed anything if this is the first Odd book I picked up.
Dean Koontz has excelled himself with this journey of Odd Thomas. This book takes you to a journey into a world of thrill, humor and suspense. Like most of his books, it's also quite thought provoking. Koontz leaves the reader completely satisfied (and wanting more!).
It had quite a few unforgettable quotes featured in it, that I finally used the "highlight" feature on my Kindle.
Highly recommended book and definitely a must read!

I have enjoyed Odd Thomas since reading the back cover of the first book. If you have not picked up Odd Thomas, I highly recommend reading the series in order. You will not be lost if you read this book first, Koontz gives quick reminders of things past. I didn't find this one a page burner, but it did keep my interest every evening until it was complete. Odd's gifts and quirkiness make him very likable. The splash of humor in a suspense novel is quite enjoyable. Odd is a great character that you just cannot wait to see what he finds next!

I love this series of books. I look forward to reading this latest installation. I highly recommend them, especially if you haven't read Koontz, cause you don't like horror. These are a differnt side of Koontz
"Publishers Weekly Review"
by Publishers Weekly,
"At the start of bestseller Koontz's wry, offbeat fifth Odd Thomas novel (after 2008's Odd Hours), short-order cook Thomas, who has prophetic dreams and can 'see the spirits of the lingering dead,' has a vision while he's a guest at a California retreat known as Roseland — of a blonde woman in a white nightgown on a black horse. Though unable to speak, this ghostly woman is able to communicate that her son, who's also at Roseland, is in danger. Thomas embarks on a quest to avenge the woman's death that will involve brutish piglike creatures that walk erect and travel in packs as well as secret discoveries by the legendary Nikolas Tesla. This supernatural thriller surely ranks as one of the series' funniest. Even as Thomas fights the forces of darkness, he observes, 'Of course, one must always remember that although The Sound of Music is the most feel-good movie musical of all time, it is crammed full of Nazis.'" by The Washington Post,
"An inventive...mix of suspense, whimsy and uplift. It's refreshing to come across a character as good-hearted as Odd."
"Review"
by Playboy,
"If Stephen King is the Rolling Stones of novels, Koontz is the Beatles."
"Review"
by The Boston Globe,
"Koontz is a master of melding the supernatural with the commonplace. [His] writing [crackles] with dry, tongue-in-cheek wit."
"Review"
by Chicago Sun-Times,
"Heartfelt and provocative...a wonderfully rich and entertaining story."
"Review"
by USA Today,
"Koontz gives his character wit, good humor, a familiarity with the dark side of humanity — and moral outrage."
