It's not surprising that you'll find stacks of 'Cartopia' prominently displayed at Powells, New Seasons, and elsewhere throughout Portland. It's a great and so-very-Portland book mixing city planning analysis, storytelling, and of course great photos. The new generation of food carts is sweeping urban areas across the U.S., but it took off first in Portland, and Rodgers and Roy (a planner and an entrepreneur, respectively) were there in the middle of it, chronicling the new trend in this delicious book.

"Staff Pick" by ,

We Portlanders love our small neighborhoods of quirky livability, and the indie food carts exemplify some of that charm. Cartopia highlights some of the major pods (a cluster of three or more carts) and delves into the wellbeing of the food-cart realm. Every visitor or newcomer to Portland should get a copy of Cartopia as an introduction to the city, not just so that they can find some good eats, but so that they can understand the heart of the PDX spirit.

"Synopsis" by , A book documenting — through stories and photography — the perfect storm of Portland’s independent culture, artisan economy, and foodie scene that created the street food revolution.
