Publisher Comments:
Giraffes? Giraffes! sheds much needed light on the previously undiscovered culture and civilization of giraffes. It is the definitive text about the biology, history and overall nature of giraffes and it will surprise you. Did you know that giraffes' necks are made of paper mache? Or that their spots act as intergalactic receptors for vital information from their distant leaders? Or that giraffes love to eat iced oatmeal cookies, but will only do so if they've been left out on the counter for two days making them chewy? Well then, you need this book! Why? Because it contains many four-color photographs, line drawings, charts, and graphs of giraffes, and other things. Because of the leatherette cover with gold stamping. Because it houses a secret pouch containing giraffe postcards for correspondence and a Giraffe-to-English phrasebook. And because it contains very humorous facts, some of which might be inadvertently true.

The line was to comment on the "title." Well, the title is not very revealing.
I am just commenting in the hope of winning free books!

This book was truly life-changing for me, as was another in the same series (Your Disgusting Head). The depth of knowledge, the illustrations, the careful thought and research that went into this scholarly book all meld together like the kind of bread sandwiches that giraffes are so fond of. I found myself not only soaking up the normal pages of the book, but discovered some of the best gems hidden away on the title page and Afterword (the end of the book). For example, Dr. Doris and her helpmate Benny list other books they would like to include in the "How" series, but you have to read the tiny, tiny print at the end of the Afterword to find the list. Books such as "Where Pets Go To Cry" and "Books: Should We Read Them or Use Them to Make Shoes?" and "Plaid vs. Corduroy: When Will the Fighting End?" As for the 2nd one of those titles, I already know the answer (I think this is right, but maybe not in the Haggis-On-Whey way...) Books such as "Giraffes? Giraffes!" should definitely be read, read, re-read, spilled on, and spilled on some more until the book gets all soggy and droopy, and then you can turn them into some fine shoes.
