I can safely say that this is the only D&D book you need to play, and I've seen it go for alot more than this. It even comes with a character sheet in case you don't have a printer to make them, so besides friends to play with this is the only resource you'll need.

I'd say there was some apprehension to those who have played Dungeons & Dragons before (myself being one). But, I think Wizards of the Coast has pulled this release off without much of a fuss, which is amazing with the amount of things they have changed. I am hoping to see this be a new standard of role playing altogether.
