First, let me admit that I don't typically read zombie books so this one was a stretch for me. What got me to even consider the book was a panel discussion that Maberry was on.

The premise behind this book is that you and I have woken up and looked out our windows and zombies have taken over the world. Now what?!?!

Maberry interviewed over 250 experts~ from forensic experts and neurologists to police and homeland security personnel ~ for the book. The result is a book that is an interesting, informative (and at times, almost frightening) read.

As an aside, a neurologist Maberry interviewed for the book was on the panel discussion. He gave an extremely detailed (and almost eerie) explanation on how zombies could actually exist. (Hey, don't knock it 'til you've read it.)

I found Maberry's style of writing informative yet highly readable and enjoyable. I've actually already picked up a copy of GHOST ROAD BLUES. Figure even an old gal can learn new tricks...or at least enjoy new books!
