Topics covered include extraction and separation of transition metals, actinide ions, and organics, as well as development of novel materials such as nanoparticles, monitoring methods, molecular modeling, reactivity and catalysis, and the formation and use of microemulsions and surfactants in supercritical carbon dioxide. Some specific topics are cleanup of dispersed-dye-contaminated water by supercritical carbon dioxide extraction, nanocrystal synthesis and stabilization in supercritical solvents, and hydroformylation of olefins in microemulsions.
