The Creature from Jekyll Island
by G. Edward Griffin

The Creature from Jekyll Island Cover

Powells.com Staff Pick

The Government has no need of taxes for revenue. Banks prefer lending to governments because the rarely repay loans. The Fed is not Federal, has no reserves and is by far not a bank. The IMF and the World Bank are disastrous for the poor and the environment.

If these statements strike a chord in you, this book is like a bite of candy for a diabetic world. Griffin provides a meticulously researched (browse the footnotes) and thorough history of the Federal Reserve, from Diocletian to the Rothchilds to Alan Greenspan — tied into the new world order. Griffin highlights that ignorance of the banking world is what mystifies and disarms the Fed's victim (namely, all of us). A bit of conspiracy theory, some economic policy, a lot of history, a tad of archeology, and a veritable amount of jaw dropping await anyone brave enough to peruse this title.

Publisher Comments:

Where does money come from? Where does it go? Who makes it? The money magicians' secrets are unveiled. We get a close look at their mirrors and smoke machines, their pulleys, cogs, and wheels that create the grand illusion called money. A dry and boring subject? Just wait! You'll be hooked in five minutes. Reads like a detective story — which it really is. But it's all true. This book is about the most blatant scam of all history. It's all here: the cause of wars, boom-bust cycles, inflation, depression, prosperity. Creature from Jekyll Island is a "must read." Your world view will definitely change. You'll never trust a politician again — or a banker.

great book...too much to comment on in such a small space. You must read this book so you too can realize how much is unknown and hidden from the citizens of the US.
