We read this book with my 2 1/2 year old son to prepare him for the home birth of his brother. He asked to read it often and was very curious about the story and illustration. I'm sure it helped him be more comfortable with the birth. The illustrations are beautiful, the story is warm and sweet, and it being told from the perspective of a young child is both charming and useful if you're reading it to prep your kids for witnessing a home birth.

This is the book every child should read! Parents too! It shows a natural home birth, beautifully illustrated, from the perspective of an about 5 year old boy. He sees his brother being born. If children can go up viewing birth as something natural we might be able to fight the incredible high c-section rate in the USA. No other country can compete with the USA in labors gone wrong because birth is viewed as natural and a women's body is known to be perfectly capable of giving birth, especially in a natural setting. This is a book that is educational for all ages because this ancient wisdom of natural birth has almost been lost on the American Continent.
Even Jack, as a little boy, understands the sacred nature of birth and it is very well captured in this all time favorite book "Welcome with Love" or also sold as "Hello Baby."
