This edition is a great book for those with an affinity for bridges, design, and grace. Great historical photos and drawings, that explain each bridge in Portland.

This new edition of the Portland Bridge Book is the best - Impressive and amazing - and a bargain at the price.

It is a thorough and detailed book about the bridges of Portland Oregon from Oregon City to Sauvie Island. Full of detailed illustrations and photographs - truly a labor of love. It is written by Sharon Wood Wortman - (the Portland Bridge Lady and Urban Adventures Tour Guide) - and her husband Ed Wortman - (Bridge Engineer) with love and respect for bridges. I imagine they have walked over (and in) every inch of each one to produce such a book.

The photographs, include a large number of historic photos from ODOT, Historic American Engineering Record (HAER) and the National Park Service include my favorite of the St Johns bridge taken from the underside making it clear why that area underneath is called Cathedral Park.

You will learn about Portland bridges and about bridges in general. I cannot imagine if there were anything else you would want to know ? Portland is a city of bridges.

WOW! This is a FANTASTIC book! Author Sharon Wood Wortman with Ed Wortman provide a wealth of Portland bridge information found nowhere else in one publication. Photographer Jim Norman's photos are breathtaking. Graphic designer Mark Falby's stellar layout is easy to read and beautiful to see. THIS IS A MUST-HAVE publication for all interested in Portland history. This 3rd edition proves that the third time is a charm.
