Build Your Own Programmable Lego Submersible: Project: Sea Angel AUV (Autonomous Underwater Vehicle)by Harry Bohm and Vickie Jensen
Synopses & ReviewsSynopsis:This illustrated resource book for teachers, librarians and parents outlines how to construct a sea angel auv (autonomous underwater vehicle). Included in the book is a submersible description, how to get started information, and tools and a parts list required to build the project, all instructions on how to build the auv to testing the sea angel plus other information on storage, waterproofing, and a resources section. About the AuthorHarry Bohm is the project manager at Simon Fraser University's Underwater Research Lab in Burnaby, British Columbia. As a teenager, Harry and a friend teamed up for a science project, constructing an underwater habitat for a pet mouse. They even tried building a small submarine that would carry food underwater to the mouse. Eventually, Harry ended up building another version of the sub and an improved habitat for the national science fair. That project taught him a lot about the physics of building submersibles, but most importantly it got him into the field of Subsea Engineering that he so loves.
Vickie Jensen was founding editor of Westcoast Mariner magazine. Every month for nearly four years she would go to sea on a different kind of boat, interview its crew and write about their work. She met Harry Bohm when she was working on an article on British Columbia's subsea industry. Vickie's most recent books include Saltwater Women at Work and Working These Waters. She also serves as a trustee with the Vancouver Maritime Museum. What Our Readers Are SayingBe the first to add a comment for a chance to win!Product Details
