Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

This is a pre-1923 historical reproduction that was curated for quality. Quality assurance was conducted on each of these books in an attempt to remove books with imperfections introduced by the digitization process. Though we have made best efforts - the books may have occasional errors that do not impede the reading experience. We believe this work is culturally important and have elected to bring the book back into print as part of our continuing commitment to the preservation of printed works worldwide.

Didn't Paula just recently meet with the Smithfield workers?

It's great that Paula Deen has a book out. It's a shame that she continues to be a spokesperson and accept financial support from the Smithfield company. This company has used illegal tactics to prevent workers from forming a union for 12 years and they continue to refuse to negotiate. Paula has associated herself with a company that would rather harrass its workers and see them injured than respect their right to bargain collectively. Paula should call on Smithfield to respect workers' rights now!
