A heart wrenching story of a young girl whose family is ripped apart by the notorious Vel' d'Hiv Roundup in 1942. I was not aware that it was the French police that did the roundup and not the Nazis. I could not put this book down!

A real page-turner! One of those books you cannot put down. Not sure if I can handle seeing the movie as I am afraid it will lessen the effect of this book.
