Ina is a pro at cooking and both novice and more advanced cooks can learn a lot from her! Her new cookbook has wonderful mouth-watering recipes - so many to choose from!! I made her chocolate cupcakes and they were a big hit! The recipes are easy to understand and the pictures are beautiful! It's a very "upscale" cookbook! You'll love this one as much as her others!

Ihave not yet obtained the newest publication, Barefoot
Contessa at Home, but hope to have it soon. I do have all of her previous books and love them all and constantly refer to them for new ideas and refresh my recall of the old "stand-bys". I make every opportunity to enjoy her TV program when i am available to do so, not only for her wonderful recipes and ideas, but I just simply enjoy watching and listening to her with her warm personality and friendly ways, especially when talking to her many friends and when she shops, and so importantly, when she reflects on how much she loves preparing and enjoying her time with Jeffrey. When I first found the "Barefoot Contessa" I read of her beginning in one of her publications which related of her very stately and governmental position and her bold adventurous decision to switch to her "Barefoot Contessa boutique bakery/specialty store. One would have to admire someone who could reach out and make such a radical change,--I was in awe as i read the small biography of her life and I knew I liked her spirit from the onset.
As i watch and listen to her, I have such a heartfelt feeling of how special it would be just to be able to meet and talk with her and have the privilege of making her acquaintance and, even more imporantly, to count her as a friend.

My special thanks to her for all my moments spent with her; albeit afar, from New Hampton to my home in Tustin, California and even more, especially for the introduction and the instilled inspiration to try new and delicious recipes --I look forward to each and every time of being in her audience of many.

Forever a devoted fan,

Marion Stevens

Product details 256 pages Clarkson N Potter Publishers - English 9781400054343 Reviews:
"Publishers Weekly Review" by , "Garten's fifth cookbook (after Barefoot in Paris) follows her surefire formula: uncomplicated but elegant recipes for the home cook whose priority is spending time with friends and family, not in the kitchen. From breakfast to dessert, the Food Network star organizes this volume by meal, with an easy-to-navigate recipe list at the top of each section. Many entries provide a creative alternative to the basics: the Summer Borscht — which calls for fresh beets, cucumber and chicken stock — will make a cool, flavorful substitute for the predictable bowl of gazpacho, and the mayonnaise-based Jon Snow's Fish Salad — freshly roasted white fish filets (e.g., halibut) distinguished by the addition of diced fennel — will supersede tuna salad. But some of Garten's 'feel-good' foods barely warrant inclusion — her recipe for Sunday Morning Oatmeal barely elevates the instructions on the Quaker canister. If not always inventive, these recipes (e.g., Cornish Hens with Cornbread Stuffing) should be reliable for seasoned but time-pressed or ambitious but inexperienced cooks. Striking a warm, personal tone, Garten also includes advice on designing a kitchen, making a grocery list, planning a menu and where to shop and dine in the Hamptons." Publishers Weekly (Copyright Reed Business Information, Inc.)
"Synopsis" by , For her growing Food Network viewing audience and longtime readers of her cookbooks, Ina Garten offers nearly 100 simple yet innovative recipes that appeal to the entire spectrum of cooks, from novice to advanced. 125 full-color photos.
