This year, I read, and loved, the classic, The Good Earth. It's soft flow and gentle images intertwined to create a feeling of the character that narrates it. I felt so close to him, even while the other characters of the novel seemed to pass him by. The story kept my interest as it spoke of different times, places, situations, material standings. The reader could always feel the main character's continued, loyal attachment to his land, the good earth.

When I was in 8th grade I had to read this book for class. I was having an odd time at school, it was like a roller coaster of emotions, one day could be good and the other bad. I finished this book before the class was done with it. It was like my little get away. I cried and I smiled and I cheered them on, its a wonderful book. I should probably get a copy for myself soon.
