About the Author

Deb Caletti's first novel for teens was The Queen of Everything, which was nominated for YALSA's Best Books for Young Adults, and was chosen for PSLA's Top Forty of 2003 and the International Reading Association's Young Adult Choices for 2004. Deb lives with her family part-time on acreage in Issaquah, a Seattle suburb, and part-time in the city on a houseboat. I loved this book! It was amazing. I loved the way it is written, it definitely has its own voice and I think if you like Sarah Dessen books you will love this one and vice versa. It made me cry, in a good way.

Deb Caletti has mastered the English language. With the fluidity of poetry, her fiction reads easily and simply. The Nature of Jade takes you on a journey with the main character that, when all is said and done, changes your life as well. It's not cheesy or hyperbolic; it's simply the truth.

Once again, Caletti has created a multitude of greatly realitsic and lovable characters. Jade's panic attacks make the chest of the reader tighten, and as she relaxes so do you. The story follows a lovely romance with a twist at the end that, although predictable to a certain extent, leaves readers thinking, 'Nooo!' It is a lovely read for all who enjoy a feel-good book with a bit of soul.
