The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han is a great read. This book is written beautifully through the eyes of a teenage girl who just wants a fun and happy summer with her family and friends. The main character Belly encounters some incredible experiences along with social hardships. What could she do to get people to like her? She tries to impress some of the boys she knows. She becomes jealous of other people that get their attention. The other two books in this series are about summers at Cousins Beach also. I can’t wait to read those too.

This book was beautifully written, a dream come true in the eyes of a teenager hoping for that first, true summer love.
I have yet to finish the series, but I adore it so far.
Hopefully it all turns out as Im hoping its to be in the end.
For sure worth reading.

“One thing my mother never knew, and would disapprove of most of all, was that I watched the Garretts. All the time.”
The Garretts are everything the Reeds are not. Loud, numerous, messy, affectionate. And every day from her balcony perch, seventeen-year-old Samantha Reed wishes she was one of them . . . until one summer evening, Jase Garrett climbs her terrace and changes everything. As the two fall fiercely in love, Jase's family makes Samantha one of their own. Then in an instant, the bottom drops out of her world and she is suddenly faced with an impossible decision. Which perfect family will save her? Or is it time she saved herself?
A dreamy summer read, full of characters who stay with you long after the story is over.
