Publisher Comments:

Kelli Carpenter has changed her identity, found a new career and thinks she's safe, but she still keeps plenty of distance between herself and everyone else. Someday, she fears, someone will connect her to Casey Wallace and a crime that would put her in prison for life. When handsome stranger Blake Windsor shows up purporting to be a handyman at the wilderness job site where Kelli is working, her instincts tell her to send him away, but Blake has her boss's approval and without him, the project won't be completed on time. Blake, a successful corporate executive, does his boss a favor and begrudgingly returns to the blue-collar construction lifestyle he vowed to leave behind. The woman he meets bears little resemblance to the woman he's supposed to find, but something about her mystifies him, and he's willing to continue his deception to learn more about her. When someone comes after Kelli she runs - but she takes Blake with her. She is convinced Blake knows something that will link her to her violent past. Saving themselves turns into saving each other as they discover who is really after them and why.
