Riordan has done it again! The Mark of Athena is the third installment in the Heroes of Olympus series and the most suspenseful one yet. Much like Arachne's artful skills, Riordan has weaved another spectacular adventure for Percy and his demigod friends. The Mark of Athena will remind readers how our hearts are just yearning for Percy and Annabeth to finally get their happily ever after. I am a fan of the Harry Potter series too and Riordan just reminds me of how J.K. Rowling tortures Harry Potter and allows readers to read about him dying before reaching his happy ending. I do not intend to give any spoilers (because this book is a must read), but Percy (and Annabeth) are in for a similarly (godly) treat. After finishing the Mark of Athena, readers like me will most definitely be reading it over again to scour for missing clues to what's in store in the fourth installment- The House of Hades.

"Synopsis"
by jenniferc@powells.com,
Told from the perspectives of four different demigods, including Annabeth from Percy Jackson and the Olympians, The Mark of Athena unites the Greek and Roman main characters from The Lost Hero and The Son of Neptune. In a fantastical ship called the Argo II, seven demigods journey by air across the United States and by sea to Rome on their quest to defeat the earth mother, Gaea. Meanwhile, war is breaking out between the Roman and Greek demigods they left behind, and only Annabeth holds the key to restoring peace.
