"I started reading Out of the Blue, and couldn't put it down." Victor Atiyeh, Former Governor of Oregon

"Enjoy an account of a policeman's challenges as he moves from Rookie to Chief." Robert Duncan, Former U.S. Congressman

"Chief Still has provided a candid, non-politically correct, often funny picture of urban policing." Francis J. Ivancie, Former Mayor, the City of Portland

"Forget Hollywood. From ghetto gutters to the lofty perch of Presidents, this is the real thing revealing what most of us don't see in the daily grind of wearing blue. Humorous, pungent or sad...Out of the Blue is delightfully insightful. A smooth, entertaining read." Jack Livengood, Past Chairman/Crimestoppers

"A great read! A story well told by a dedicated Police Chief with the right amount and thought provoking insights sprinkled throughout." Arthur Reidel, Former CEO of Reidel International, Inc. and a lifelong resident of Portland, Oregon

"... A tour of the growth of a police professional from Rookie to Chief is related in a factual and sometimes humorous style. A must read for those thinking of a law enforcement career, and those observing the functions of police ... an interesting, humorous and enjoyable read." Michael D. Schrunk, Multnomah County district Attorney since
