Both his 30 year police career and advanced education were centered in Portland, Oregon. He started as a 22 year old Police Patrolman and finished as Chief of Police. He retired from the Portland Police Bureau at age 52. Ron's advanced education includes an Associates Degree in Police Science from Portland Community College and a Masters Degree in Administration of Criminal Justice from the University of Portland. He also graduated from the F.B.I. National Academy in 1970 and several other justice related management and supervisory schools during the late 1960's through the 1970's. During his career he was elected and appointed to numerous professional boards and organizations. He served locally, nationally and internationally, coming in contact with numerous entertainers and celebrities. Following his police retirement, Ron did consulting, talk radio, became a real estate company broker/owner and continues to pursue other business endeavors. His 50+ year marriage to Pat Amos Still produced three children and six grandchildren. These days Ron and Pat are summering in Portland and wintering in La Quinta, California.
