I a 46 years old woman. I'm from Ecuador. I have three keeds (15 and 19 are boys and a 14 daughter). I like to reed, specially books for improvment. One day in my house, looking for a book to read, my son sugested me to read the book "My Bloody Life" his teacher from High School made the students to read in his class. I started reading the book and for first time I started crying knowing how hard was Raymundo's chilhood. I grew up in a nice family but when I got married I never realized that my life will change. My husband left me with the trhee kids when my older son was 12 years old. I live in Williamsburg (Broklyn) There are a lot of Jews people here, but exactly on the corner where I live there are a group of Puerto Rican guys that I can compare with the people Reymundo was involved. At the bigining I thought that maybe if I find another person (man) my life will be better. But after I read the book, Istarted thinking what is gonna happen with my young daughter if I bring a man to my home and how is gonna be my two boys's life so I decided to take care of my kids and do not bring nobody to home until they are ready for life. I went to college and I used to bring my daughter with me because I always remembered how the girls Reymundo met were abused by their stepfathers so I didn't want to leave her with nobody. I'm sad thinking that sometimes God uses the life of an inocent boy to change our lives.
I' m so proud of him to have the strenght to overcome alll the bad situations he had and he should be proud of himself because his been changing the life of many young and adult people.
I would like to meet him, and ask him to visit our Ministry (Metro International Ministry) located in Brooklyn (East New York) in which we work trying to change the life of parents and children in that area.

i absolutly adore this book! It has to be my favorite book of all time. The way reymundo describes how his childhood was and everything throughout his life is amazing!Every minute i spent reading this book was amazing! I would definately recomend this book to anyone (well someone over the age of 14)! I just love this book i Feel so sorry for reymundo during his childhood, i very much hated his mother and stepfather for doing what they did to him. I feel that reymundos childhood caused him to do what he did during his years. Anyways i really enjoyed reading this book!!!!!

This is one of the best autobiographies that I have read. The story is sad and it's incredible how a parents action defines their childrens futures. Because of his mothers neglect and her allowing her "husbands" to abuse Reymundo he finds a "family" out in the worst place to find one, the streets. This story is worth every single minute you spend reading it. This book will take you back to his childhood and it will make those who are parents think twice about making any decisions that can either make their childrens life or break them.

I lyke the title. If I saw this bookin a store, it would catch my eye. The cover explain alot with the 5 point crown. Made with many things of value. It shows the life of someone not having much but doing illegal crime to get them. Showing a real hard life with all the items looking dirty. The way the face iz made is also unique. It look like a confused boy like most gangmembers are, he looks hard and rough. Like as if he was going through a hard life of sadness, pressure, and all the things that come with being in a gang. The 5 point crown showing the gang and respect for it. I don't think anyones life is bloodier then the one of a gangbanger. That why this book has the perfect title.
