Another good read from Peter Lovesey. Stayed up late to finish this one, kept me engrossed (although I did guess the ending, but not until almost the end). Inspector Diamond is his usual enteraining self and the story is a solid one. It would be hard to investigate a murder on the beach after the tide had washed out the area.
