No matter how much time goes by, Valencia's story stays fresh. Michelle Tea depicts her life in 1990's San Francisco throught a lens of excitement, grittiness, and that nothing-to-lose joie de vivre. The characters ring true, and the events strike a chord with anyone who's ever lived on the egde, even a little bit. Read Valencia!

Valencia is a fast paced book that takes you straight into the stream of consciousness of the main character as she explores a lesbian underworld of SF that many of us won't experience, but chocked full of thoughts, feelings and emotions that most young women can relate to.
