This is one of my favorite knitting books and is best appreciated by those who have mastered at least the essentials of knit and purl. (It's a terrific gift for a budding knitter who has gotten hooked.) I refer to it constantly for the "recipes" on making basic items, for encouragement, for Pearl-McPhee's refreshing humor.

I love this book! Information is given in a humorous and informative way. She jokes about herself and shares stories of her own as she provides us her expertise. Lots of useful advice such as how to figure out how much yarn is in a skein, what kind of darn yarn is it (no ballband) and tricks on how to knit various items more easily. I highly recommend this book to any knitter!

This is a fun, chatty book - like your knitting circle condensed into book form. It's full of stories and anecdotes, most amusing and some deeply touching. There are some very useful tips and shortcuts for knitters of any skill level.

This is a funny, readable book that combines humor with knitting tips and patterns. The patterns are really more like jumping-off-places rather than full-on patterns, which could be either freeing or frustrating, depending on what kind of knitter you are.
