I grew up in Colorado and still own half of our family farm and ranch in there. I love this book and find it to be quite accurate and beautifully done. As a newly retired elementary teacher, I'm buying a copy for my niece who just started teaching 4th grade in Colorado. Next year she gets to teach Colorado history! What an excellent resource this will be for her and her students.

We checked this book from the library before a trip to Colorado...and now we MUST buy it! It is a wonderful intro to Colorado sites and facts. Each letter of the alphabet has a 4-line poem...but there's more: there are also multi-paragraph descriptions as sidebars. For the younger kids, you can just read the poems. The illustrations are beautiful. A very well-done book, my 5-year-old especially loves it.
