It's nuts to boycott a bookstore for this type of information. I'm 100% against dog fighting, and think it's very cruel. However, it does exist and we can't pretend it doesn't. The information is there if we like it or not, and the measure of a good bookstore isn't if they only have what I like, but if they have information to reach all types of people. Many of the dogs we all enjoy and love would have never come to life without the breeding for fighting specification. I own a pit bull, and have just put in a deposite on a Bordeaux Bulldog, and they were both bred to fight. Boxing, UFC, Wrestling, are all cruel sports that a winner is found by his/her ability to disengage their opponent. And no one is going to boycott Spike TV, HBO, Showtime, TNT, and other stations that carry these sports. Great book, great store, and thanks for having information for every classification of reader.

I am very pleased to see this book in the powells book store, not because I am a promoter of dog fighting; however, I am researching the history of dog fighting for a class report. I in no way support the cruelty of any animals. I do however, want to understand the very broad history of our nation, and as part of this understanding I look at both sides of the issue. If we don't look at both sides of the issue, how can we know where we stand on it.

I agree with Faith. I am boycotting Amazon for having such material available, and I will not place the order I was about to place now that I've seen this here. What a sad comment on our society that this book is so sought after. It should be included in a complete library about how to set cats on fire, kidnap and torture children (without leaving any tell-tale signs), and how to abuse your elderly parents and steal their medicaid and social security payments.

This book belongs in the same place that its potential buyers belong - THE TRASH HEAP!

I ask that you be a stand for common decency, protection of animals, kindness and compassion on our society by eliminating this book and other books that not only encourage, but give instructions how to abuse animals or commit other illegal acts.

I will check back to see when this book is removed from your offerings.
