This may not be a baby-boomer book but it is certainly a book for many parents of boomers. There is not a machinist alive, young or old, who would not enjoy it.

J.R. Williams was one of the best-known cartoonists in North America in the first half of the last century. He worked as a machinist and as a cowboy before becoming a full-time cartoonist in 1921.

His best-known syndicated cartoon series was Out Our Way, but The Bull of the Woods series (about work in a machine shop) is famous with machinists and factory workers.
