The last book in the Scott Pilgrim series sees Scott battle his most impressive foe. Not the 7th evil ex-boyfriend, but himself. While containing the same fun style, this book explores relationships more deeply and with aplomb.

I adore the Scott Pilgrim series, and have since first stumbling upon it back in 2007. This, the final and concluding volume, does all that it's supposed to do: all the storylines are nicely wrapped up, the characters are given closure, and the story concludes satisfactorily. That isn't to say there aren't a few twists and turns along the way to make things more interesting. As this volume contains far more pathos and substantially less slapstick, it reflects Scott, Ramona, Knives and the rest finally beginning to grow up and be the people they are meant to be. A fine conclusion to a stellar series!

"Review A Day" by , "What makes the Scott Pilgrim series work so well is its cleverness. The books abound with smart, funny, knowing bits. At any moment, O'Malley can change his drawing style to a simplified cartoony-manga to depict a character's childlike glee, or have someone break the fourth wall by referring to something that happened "two books ago." Scott levels up, video game-style, as he grows up and becomes a better person. When he stands up to Gideon, he earns the Power of Understanding ('New T-shirt Unlocked!)." (Read the entire
"Review" by , "This is really the crown jewel moment of O'Malley's work in Scott Pilgrim. The setting is huge, the fighting is intense, and this is where everything pays off....It also has a very nice and fitting ending...I feel, in all honesty, I couldn't have asked for more."
"Review" by , "[A]lthough it isn't literally the series' finest hour, it is a fitting and entirely epic finale....Finest Hour is a worthy and satisfying, though somewhat rushed, culmination of one of indie comics' funnest rides... (Grade: B+)"
"Review" by , "It's been a while since I've been so emotionally satisfied by the end of a series of books, and I have to hand it to O'Malley for simultaneously giving his readers exactly what they've been wanting while still pulling a lot of surprises out of his hat. There's a lot of closure involved, but it never feels like it's dragged out too long or that the pacing is even slightly off."
"Review" by , "The epic of epic epicness pays homage to a few epics of the past....It's nigh impossible to imagine a fan of this series enjoying this volume any less than its predecessors. It elevates the series. It matures the themes. It's the Finest Hour of the whole damn thing. Rating: Awesome."
"Synopsis" by , The sixth and final volume to indie comics' most influential series of the last decade! Now a major motion picture directed by Edgar Wright and starring Michael Cera.
