Synopsis:

They had read the sagas of Vikings, Romans and Greeks. Fresh-faced descendants of Scots and Pics, Standish and Crockett. Now they were pilots and their battlefield was the sky, and fear, and an earthly Venus. They were reluctant combatants of bullet and bomb, passion and love.
