The past has driven Jack Sawyer here: his father is gone, his mother is dying, and the world no longer makes sense. But for Jack everything is about to change. For he has been chosen to make a journey back across America — and into another realm.

One of the most influential and heralded works of fantasy ever written, The Talisman is an extraordinary novel of loyalty, awakening, terror, and mystery. The Talisman ranks #1 on my top list of favorite books. This was the book I gave to my book-loving step-daughter and nephew when they each turned 11. It is filled with poignant emotion, plenty of suspense and the right amount of horror to keep anyone on the edge of their seat.

A great book! This is my personal favorite Stephen King book. I am not familiar with any of Straub's books except for this one. This is a thrilling adventure story that has some very emotional moments. Highly recommended.

This is such an intriguing book. Certainly not for the "casual" reader. You will spend a good deal of time, immersed in the alternate world that Stephen King and Peter Straub create in this book. It's a page turner right to the end.
