Lausanne: Le Livre du Mois, 1969. 8vo, full green leather with gilt on the spine, silk book mark, presentation copy - inscribed by the author on the half-title to Baron Robert Rothschild, 305 pages, VG/-; Rothschild was related to the famous banking dynasty and had a distinguished career as a Belgian diplomat. During WWII he escaped from occupied Belgium and joined the Belgian government in exile in London. He was posted to the Belgian legation in Lisbon. In 1944 he requested and recieved a transfer to China where he remained until the communist take-over in 1949. He then served in Washington, Paris, and London. He helped draft the Treaty of Rome which established the EEC. He died in 1998.
