A classic of American humor, the adventures of a house painter and his brood of high-stepping penguins have delighted children for generations. "Here is a book to read aloud in groups of all ages. There is not an extra or misplaced word in the whole story."--"The Horn Book." Newbery Honor Book.

I remember reading this book when I was in first grade. It's a perfect book for little children because it's about penguins of all animals and has a good balance of humor and seriousness. A very entertaining read.

This is one of my favorite books from childhood. I remember laughing and laughing, and then wanting a peguin for a pet. This is a classic that every child should have in thier library.
