It's rare to find a good, fact-based historical document that also reads like a novel. Full of 'back-story', intrigue, foreshadowing and revelation, The Battle of Leyte Gulf is a very thorough account of the Battle of Leyte Gulf, basically the last hurrah for the Japanese Navy in WWII. The personalities come alive and the tension builds throughout the telling of the story, and the human drama is also impactful and exciting.
