It begins with an overview of classical digital system control design, and develops the principles of regulation, tracking, Kalman filtering, and stochastic control. The stronger emphasis on design also satisfies ABET recommendations for Electrical Engineering curricula. The approach favors applied relevance over the abstract, while still exploring new ideas. Design examples are given throughout each chapter, with at least one major practical problem explained and solved.
