Duke of Sin (Avon Romantic Treasure)by Adele Ashworth
Synopses & Reviews
He is called the "Duke of Sin"
... a notorious rogue and recluse whose reputationis as black as the Cornish night. They speak of his conquests, his past, and his mysteries in breathless whispers. And now lovely and desperate Vivian Rael-Lamont has no choice but to enter William Raleigh's lair.
Vivian prayed that the scandal that drove herfrom London would never be revealed — but now she will be exposed to the world ... unless William can protect her. She has heard the rumors about the infamous Duke of Sin, yet she is unprepared for the man's raw, sensuous power ... or for the traitorous response of her own body. Surrender, however, could prove most dangerous indeed — for both of them. For while the duke is intrigued by the guarded, intoxicatinglady who has invaded his solitude — and fully intends to discern her every secret through sweet, unhurried seduction — it is his own heart that will be imperiled when passion takes them farther than he ever intended.
Vivian Rael-Lamont lives peacefully in the small town of Penzance, Cornwall, where everybody believes her to be widowed, when in truth she left London unwilling to let her husband's exploits taint her family name. All's well, until someone threatens to reveal her married status and expose her to scandal - unless she can obtain an original signed copy of a Shakespearian play, owned by none other than the reclusive and mysterious William Raleigh, Duke of Trent. Vivian is unexpectedly drawn to Raleigh and, for the price of passion, he ends up joining her quest to catch the blackmailer, a discovery which only leads them to more danger. And although their bond only grows stronger, they soon realise the fruitlessness of their relationship - a married woman of noble background cannot enter into an illicit affair with the Duke of Sin.or can she?
The award-winning author returns with a sensuous new trilogy. In this first installment, a scandalous liaison with a mysterious, disreputable rogue may be the only way the desperate lady can guard her shocking secret. Original.
About the Author
I've always loved to write, but after my first attempt at a novel (nine chapters of Plastic City, the story of underwaterd-welling orphans in the twenty-third century that I wrote in the sixth grade), I took some time off to finish school before I decided to try it for real. In 1986, I graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in journalism, but by 1993, I'd decided to return to my first passion — crcative writing — by trying my hand at my own romance novel. That book, My Darling Caroline, went on to win the Romance Writers of America RITA Award for Best First Book of 1998.
I live in the St. Louis area with my husband and two children, exploring history as I delve into the hearts of my characters. I enjoy hearing from readers and invite you to write to me in care of Avon Books at HarpcrCollins,or directly through my website.
