Your Map to the DVD Easter Egg Hunt of a Lifetime

Love movies? Addicted to DVDs? Here's a new way to enjoy them. Easter Eggs are hidden gems tucked into the digital landscape of many DVDs--there are probably some in your living room right now! Not listed on the back of the DVD box, Easter Eggs are truly secret--they can only be released with a special sequence or code. Discover deleted scenes, view hidden "making of" features, eavesdrop on conversations between authors, directors, and actors, and much more. This handy resource shows you what the eggs are, how to access them, and what the payoff is. So, if you're looking to get more from your DVDs, this is the ultimate guide for you. Happy hunting!

  • Locate hidden bloopers, deleted scenes, secret alternate endings, video games, and more
  • Sharpen your movie knowledge with "Did You Know?" factoids about the films you love
  • View alternate cuts of classics, including "Terminator 2" and the "Wizard of Oz" version of "Rocky Horror Picture Show"
  • Discover a hilarious (and hidden) blooper reel from "Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace"
  • Watch undocumented deleted scenes from "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone"
  • Impress your friends by showing secret areas buried in "The Simpsons" box sets
  • Enjoy a humorous collage of famous scenes from "The Godfather" in multiple languages--and observe James Caan's screen test for his part as Sonny Corleone
  • Take a peek behind the scenes with numerous "Toy Story" outtakes
  • Receive a personal message from Kevin Smith hidden in "Mallrats"

Synopsis:

Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace There are a number of clever eggs well-hidden on LucasFilm/Fox Home Video's DVD release of "Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace", including undocumented deleted scenes and a handy THX audio and video setup screen. But the finest egg is a reel of amusing out takes. Here's how to access it: On the first disc, go to the 'Options' menu and type '1138' using your remote control (one of Lucas' first films was "THX 1138"). On some DVD players you may have to press '10+', then '1', and then '3' and '8'. Now, sit back and enjoy an entertaining two-minute out take reel. Who knew R2D2 had such problems keeping upright?
