Publisher Comments:

This first-of-its kind text is written for the growing fire administration/officer markets.  Author Larry Bennett is both an attorney and a firefighter, and he is well-connected at the University and National Fire Academy levels.  This book has been closely monitored by the folks at FESHE, and an online course is being developed around this text by Empire State College for seven campuses. Full of current cases/decisions relevant in today’s communities and lots of related readings/links.

About the Author

Lawrence Bennett has been a part-time firefighter/EMT for the past 26 years and a full-time attorney for over 35 years.  In his law practice as a partner in a Cincinnati law firm, Lawrence writes a monthly fire and EMS law newsletter where he represents fire chiefs, fire fighters, and emergency medical service personnel in federal and state courts, before the Ohio EMS Board, and before township trustees and other municipalities throughout Ohio.  Lawrence has also been an adjunct professor at the University of Cincinnati, Fire Science Department and at Cincinnati State Technical and Community College, as well as a guest lecturer at the National Fire Academy, Executive Fire Officer class, and at the Ohio Fire Academy.  Lawrence is general counsel for the Warren County (OH) Fire Chiefs’ Association and has now become legal counsel for the Commission on Accreditation of Air Transport Systems, which certifies air care operations nationwide .
