Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

This well-loved Little Critter picture book has become a modern classic. It's the tale of a father-and-son camping trip filled with Little Critter's mistakes and good intentions. In spite of difficulties, however, the happy father and son manage to put up their tent, catch fish for dinner, and sleep beneath the stars. In spite of minimal text, the story is full and rich, with endearing illustrations from start to finish.

Synopsis:

A darling companion to Old Bear and His Cub from the New York Times bestselling creator of the Gossie books

What's an Old Bear to do when he finds a Little Cub all alone and afraid of the dark? Adopt him, of course! And help him try to get over his fears. In this book we see the father and son from Old Bear and His Cub meet for the first time--and grow to love one another.

With the same bold art and humorous twist on parenting, Olivier Dunrea's tumbling bears will melt your heart and show how strong the bond is between any father and son pair.

Synopsis:

Father and son go camping, but who is really taking care of whom? Full color.

I am a paraprofessional for 27 years and I work with a kindergarten class. They are reading Mercer Mayer books, "Just Me and My Dad" is one of the books. The children enjoy reading the Mercer Mayer series very much. After reading the books they take the accelerated reading test for the book that they have read. Keep up the good work.

With kind regards,

I bought this book just before the birth of my second son. I liked that there was a book about spending time with a dad and how important that was for any child. It was his favorite book for many years. When my third son came along, it became his favorite too.

Now, I am purchasing this book for an "expectant father" to read to his first born. It is my hope that this will become a favorite for their family too. I only wish that there were more books available that celebrate just how important a father is to his child (and children).
