Publisher Comments:

When FBI agent Garon Grier buys a ranch in Jacobsville, Texas, he quickly runs into small-town reality date a local girl and everyone hears wedding bells. But with a tragic marriage behind him, Garon prefers working on the new case that takes most of his time — the investigation of a child predator who has recently escaped from prison. Though Grace Garver grew up in Jacobsville, she too is saddled with small-town realities. Because of a past that everyone knows about, but nobody talks about, she's not considered marriage material. When Garon's research into the convict's past victims leads him to Grace — the one child who escaped death a long time ago — he discovers that she is once again the target of a determined killer. Can Garon keep her safe?

I have been an avid reader of Diana Palmer for as long as I can remember. Her books have consistently been worth reading.
The story of Garon and Grace is another great book in a series relating to Texas and law enforcement. The way that this book connects with the others is addicting, though the book can stand alone.
There are many themes in the story that made me feel sympathetic for the characters, especially for Grace, who survived a terrible crime from her childhood, but was still able to love others.
Garon was able to find love again, though he made many mistakes along the way in his encounters with Grace. It goes to show that even good guys are not perfect.
It is a great book to read on a cold night by a warm fire. Keep up the great work, Diana!
