About the Author

Alan Bradley is the internationally bestselling author of many short stories, children’s stories, newspaper columns, and the memoir The Shoebox Bible. As the fourth in the Flavia de Luce series of books, I Am Half-Sick of Shadows does not disappoint! Flavia is as sassy as ever, the mystery satisfyingly juicy, and we get a further glimpse into the de Luce family complexities. This book (and the series) is a treasure--hilarious, charming, touching, and a great deal of fun.

The fourth in the Flavia de Luce series and what a wonderful break from everyday life - only Flavia could hatch up such an outrageous plot as her plan to trap Santa on Christmas Eve…

I adore this series and was so happy to see Bradley had put out a Christmas version--set entirely at the De Luce Buckshaw estate. It was a real treat, and Flavia's voice is, as-always, precocious, sharp and funny. The mysteries are always secondary to Flavia's inner ramblings and interactions with the adults around her.

Highly recommended, along with the rest of the books in the series.
