Love Freaksby Iain Heggie
Synopses & Reviews
Celine McAnespie, an employee of the Costly Coffee global empire, is dragged off to a weekend training course just days after she's started her new job. Her Eco-warrior boyfriend Jarvis is furious with her for taking the job, partly because he's about to spend the weekend at the company's global headquarters demonstrating against them. Weaving together sex, intrigue, greed, and protest, Love Freaks asks whether the course of true love can survive the ravages of transnational business interests.
Freely adapted from Marivaux's Double Inconstancy, Iain Heggie's new play is ferociously filthy and cuttingly contemporary.
Love Freaks premiered at the Tron Theatre, Glasgow, in May 2002.
A caustic new comedy from the winner of the John Whiting and the Mobile Prize awards, and one of Scotland's most important contemporary playwrights
Set in a modern-day Scotland, this is Iain Heggie's irreverent adaptation of Marivaux's comedy The Double Inconstancy
Love Freaks is published to coincide with its premiere in May 2002 at the Tron Theatre, Edinburgh
